South Africa - Disabled Travel
South Africa recognises the travel spirit of every-abled person. We are in the process of making all public spaces user-friendly and accessible to disabled tourists. Therefore the aim is to have buildings and infrastructure plus nature trails wheelchair- and pram friendly and to use technology to ensure inclusive use by all through for instance Braille and sign language.
Disabilities or ability-challenges that are taken into consideration are:
Blind
Partially sighted
Deaf
Hard of hearing
Mentally ill, intellectually challenged or illiterate
Pregnant
Mobility harmed
Temporarily disabled
Children, maturing and/or aged
Limited by diseases such as heart and/or lung disease, kidney failure, diabetes etc.
