Bontebok National Park

Backed by the majestic Langeberg Mountains and home to much of the Cape Floral Kingdom, this area is known and loved for its simple and peaceful beauty. Back in 1931 there was only 30 Bontebok left in the wild and as a result the Bontebok National Park was proclaimed. On the west you will find the Breede River, ideal for bird watching and fishing or hiking and swimming.

This park may be the smallest of the SAN Parks but have a high density in bird and wildlife. Other activities are drives to the surrounding wine route towns of Swellendam, Robertson, Montagu, Ashton and Bonnievale. Alternatively one could visit the hot springs in Montagu.
